Protected No claim discount

It's a way of keeping your No claim discount (NCD) even when you have to make a claim on your policy.

If you have 3 or more years NCD we may be able to offer you protected NCD depending upon your previous claims history.

If you have 3 years No claim discount (NCD) we may be able offer you the option to protect it. 3 years Protected NCD enables you to make one at fault claim before your No claim discount is affected.

If you have 4 or more years NCD, we may be able offer you the option to protect it. 4 years or more protected NCD enables you to make up to two at fault claims in any three year period before you lose your protection.

Certain types of claims won’t affect your No claim discount at all:

  • Emergency medical treatment
  • Glass repair or replacement

Motor legal services

An accident that wasn't your fault, or accused of a road traffic offence, we'll find you expert legal advice to recover money spent and secure compensation.

  • If you or any named drivers are involved in a motor accident which is not your/their fault, we will cover up to £100,000 legal costs for a lawyer to pursue compensation from the driver who is to blame (e.g. personal injury, your excess, travel expenses).
    The lawyer will discuss your case with you and represent you if they believe that it is more likely than not that your claim will be successful. We will also pay your legal costs should your claim not be successful.
  • Up to £10,000 legal costs for a lawyer to defend you or any named drivers if you’re being prosecuted for a motoring offence (e.g. speeding).
  • 24 hour UK legal helpline – confidential legal advice on motoring issues (e.g. private vehicle sale).

Hire Car

In addition to the standard Courtesy car cover, if you select the Hire Car option, a replacement car is provided by one of our approved repairers and is available for the duration of any repairs and if your car is stolen or written off, we provide a hire car until an offer is made to settle the claim (up to a maximum of 21 days).

Designed to keep you mobile during the period of your claim, this option should satisfy the needs of most customers. A standard courtesy car is typically a small, 3 door, 1 litre hatchback model.

Keycare

Our Comprehensive and Telematics cover includes replacement locks cover up to £300.

With Keycare we replace all the keys with your fob if they’re lost, stolen, broken or broken in a lock, or recover them from inside your vehicle or home up to the value of £1,500.

Keycare cover includes:

  • Key recovery and locksmith assistance whether locked in a car or a building.
  • Up to £50 for a replacement key and locksmith charges for keys broken / broken in a lock.
  • Up to £1,500 cover per fob, per annum. Additional key fobs available.
  • No excess to pay and does not affect any No claim discount
  • Emergency UK Based 24 hour helpline, 365 days per year
  • All types of car keys covered
  • If the keys are found with the Keycare fob, a £10 reward will be issued to the finder.

Increased Personal Accident cover

If you, your partner or named drivers suffer accidental bodily injury in an accident involving your car, we pay £60,000 or £120,000 per insured person following loss of, or permanent loss of use of, a limb, irrecoverable loss of sight in one or both eyes, permanent loss of hearing in one or both ears, or for death. In addition, it provides up to £500 physiotherapy cover for minor injuries per insured person.

Breakdown cover

Six levels of cover are available for your car:

  • Roadside - we will come out and try and get you moving at the roadside (except within 1/4 mile of your home). If we can't fix your car we'll take it up to 10 miles to the nearest garage.
  • Roadside & At Home - We'll come out and try to get you moving at the roadside even if your car is at home. If we can't fix your car we'll take it up to 10 miles to the nearest garage for you.
  • Roadside & Recovery - Roadside (except within 1/4 mile of your home) and if we can't get your car moving, we will get you and your party to any single destination in Great Britain (not including Northern Ireland).
  • Roadside, Recovery & At Home - We'll come out and try to get you moving at the roadside even if your car is at home. If we can't fix your car we'll take it to the nearest garage for you or we'll take you and your passengers to any single destination in the UK.
  • Roadside, Recovery, At Home & Onward Travel - Roadside, Recovery and we'll provide you with At home cover plus a hire car for up to one day while your car's fixed. If that's not appropriate, we'll provide overnight accommodation or an alternative form of transport.
  • Roadside, Recovery, At Home, Onward Travel & European - we will provide a service as explained above, plus we will provide breakdown assistance in Europe for trips of up to 90 days.
